Ben Marshan CFP^® is the Head of Policy at the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

Before commencing as Head of Policy in July 2016, Ben spent six months with the FPA as the Professional Standards Advocacy Manager. He has a further 10 years’ experience working with the FPA on member committees and working groups, and spent nine years at State Super Financial Services (now StatePlus) as a financial planner and senior manager.

During 18 months at KPMG, Ben was the financial advice subject matter expert, helping clients develop practice management frameworks, improve the efficiency of advice provision, reviewing advice, assisting in enforceable undertakings, remediation programs and regulator enquiries, reviewing culture, policies and procedures and compliance with regulatory obligations.

Ben holds the CFP^® designation and LRS^® Life Risk Specialist designation, as well as a Masters of Commerce in Financial Planning. He also holds a Bachelor of Science with first class honours.
