Gil Gordon is the proprietor and senior adviser at RI Lower Hunter.

Gil is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and an Accredited Estate Planning Specialist (AEPS®).

Gil formally joined the financial services industry in 1994 with RetireInvest. He commenced his business in 2001 and in 2002, he opened RI Maitland.

Gil is the principal shareholder of the business and works with clients of the firm as a financial coach emphasising lifestyle, peace of mind and financial goal setting.

Having built a large and successful business serving retirees and wealth accumulators, Gil has recently focused on the development of:

• Optimising clients’ retirement strategies and outcomes;
• Lead adviser services for small business owners;
• Insurance claim and cashflow management services for the disabled;
• Innovative estate planning solutions for clients and their families; and
• Cashflow management and debt reduction services for homeowners and pre-retirees.

Gil has received the internationally recognised CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and Accredited Estate Planning Specialist (AEPS®) qualifications from the Financial Planning Association – Australia’s leading professional financial advice association. In addition, Gil holds the Diploma of Financial Planning through Deakin University, a Certificate of Investment & Financial Planning from the Investment Training College, and he has degrees in mathematics and engineering from Newcastle University.

With these qualifications, experience and constant additional study, Gil is well qualified to help clients to achieve their financial, family and personal goals.

In his spare time, Gil coaches his son’s soccer team, is always doing some form of landscaping at home and enjoys making furniture for his wife and children. He has recently become a MAMIL (Middle Aged Man In Lycra) and can been seen cycling around Maitland early in the mornings.
