Monica Rule is a self-managed superannuation expert. She set up her current SMSF business in 2013 after a long career with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Monica worked for the ATO for 28 years, 17 of which were spent in the Superannuation Business Line. Monica spent a number of years training ATO staff on SMSF compliance and she often accompanied senior managers to stakeholder meetings to provide technical support and advice. With the ATO’s permission, Monica published The Self Managed Super Handbook in 2010 and later in 2012 she became a regular contributor to the finance pages of The West Australian and The Australian newspapers.
