Sharon Taylor is an Associate Professor at Western Sydney University and Chair of the Financial Planning Education Council (FPEC).

Sharon has an outstanding track record in both teaching and research since 1995, and has established a reputation as a leading academic in the financial planning sector.

At Western Sydney University, Sharon has been instrumental in developing both undergraduate and postgraduate programs to meet industry requirements, including RG146 and recently developing postgraduate financial planning programs to meet the FPEC requirements.

She has chaired several committees and boards at university level, and has participated as Chair of the FPEC curriculum working committee and the research grants committee.

Sharon holds a Masters and a Bachelor Degree of Commerce from UNSW, a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training, and a Diploma in Company Directorship.
